Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry

Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry (LMM) is the food Bank's Redistribution Organization (RDO). LMM and the Food Bank work together for the logistical transfer of food and grocery product. LMM also has a revered culinary program that operates from their Central kitchen on Cleveland's near east side.

The central kitchen is a state-of-the art commercial kitchen, and volunteers and culinary students help produce 2,000 – 5,000 meals per day. These meals are sent out eight different program and shelters operated by LMM to serve people who are homeless with nutritous meals. Many kitchen volunteers and program participants are part of the "Chopping for Change" program. This program provides work experience and training for women in the criminal justice system and helps empower them to re-join the labor force.

Country Neighbor

Country Neighbor Program, Inc, is our Partner Distribution Organization (PDO). Located in Orwell, Ohio in Ashtabula County, Country Neighbor helps much needed food reach the people of Ashtabula County. Food from the Greater Cleveland Food Bank is transported to and housed in their facility and is then distibuted to eighteen partner programs in Ashtabula County. Country Neighbor distributes an average of 1,000,000 pounds of food to Ashtabula County residents on an annual basis.

In 2018, the Greater Cleveland Food Bank began its partnership with the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging (WRAAA) to provide meals to a portion of their Cuyahoga County territory.  Since then, the partnership has expanded to Lake County and we are able to provide 28 senior centers across Cuyahoga and Lake Counties over 3,000 meals/day to seniors in need.  The meals are made fresh on our Community Kitchen and delivered daily by our transportation team. We are grateful for this partnership and look forward to continuing to serve low-income seniors through this partnership.
