Week of Giving
Monday, April 1 - Sunday, April 7, 2019
The Harvest for Hunger Week of Giving is a joint effort among four food banks in Northeast Ohio. The week provides an opportunity for community members to get involved in local hunger-relief efforts, while providing fun and tangible ways to be part of the campaign.
There are lots of ways to get involved in the week:
APRIL 1 - Make a Donation Monday
Campaign supporters are encouraged to donate to the Harvest for Hunger Campaign to help kick off the Week of Giving. Whether you donate online, send in a check, or visit our collection with the RTA at Tower City before the Indians Home Opener, every dollar you give helps provide four nutritious meals.
Help make a difference for our neighbors in need facing difficult choices. Please don't wait - donate now.
APRIL 2 - Take a Tour Tuesday
Tune in LIVE on Facebook at 1 pm for a behind-the-scenes look at the Food Bank's 128,000 square foot facility. Learn more about how we operate and how food moves through our facility to people in need throughout Northeast Ohio.
APRIL 3 - Volunteer Wednesday
Volunteers are the backbone of the work we do at the Food Bank. Last year, more than 18,000 people gave more than 85,000 to the Food Bank. You can be a part of it! Volunteer shifts are available all day on Wednesday, April 3 from 8 am to 8 pm. Sign up for a shift at www.GreaterClevelandFoodBank.org/Volunteer. Can't make it that day? Don't worry - shifts are available six days per week.
APRIL 4 - Thankful Thursday
We'll be spending the day expressing our gratitude for everyone who supports the Food Bank and the Harvest for Hunger Campaign! You can join in and show your support of the Week of Giving by posting on social media why you support Harvest for Hunger using these signs:
APRIL 6 - Check Out Hunger Saturday
Support Harvest for Hunger during your weekend grocery shopping trip to your local Giant Eagle, Heinen's, Dave's Markets, Fisher's Foods, or Buehler's. You can donate to the campaign right at the checkout. Every $1 donated helps provide four meals.
From 11 am to 12 pm, Join News 5 Cleveland Anchor Rob Powers at Giant Eagle in North Olmsted for his celebrity bagging shift! Rob will bag your groceries for $5 or $10 donations to Check Out Hunger.
APRIL 7 - Sunday Funday/National Beer Day
Sunday, April 7 is your last day to support Harvest for Hunger during the Week of Giving. Make sure to mark your calendars for Food Bank Night at Platform Beer Company on April 16. From 3 pm to 12 am, Platform will donate $1 from every beer sold to the Food Bank!
