Meet Cornelious, a Food Bank Truck Driver
Cornelious has worked as a truck driver for the Food Bank for a number of years. He primarily delivers meals to children’s programs. During the school year, it’s Kid’s Café sites. In 2018, the Greater Cleveland Food Bank partnered with more than 45 sites in our six-county service area. During the summer, it’s Summer Meal sites. In 2018, more than 100 sites provide meals to students during the summer.
Cornelious loves his job, “I’m happy to be back,” he said, returning from a week off from work, “I enjoy doing what I’m doing. It’s doing something to help people who are in need.”
We’re grateful for Cornelious. He’s the final link between the Food Bank and our network of partners ensuring children have the nutritious food that is so vital to learning, growing, and achieving.
“Sometimes kids come up and say thank you,” Cornelious says with a smile. The thousands of meals that your generosity helps to provide year-round and greatly appreciated by these students and their parents, many of whom couldn’t make ends meet while ensuring that their little ones have adequate nutrition. Take it from LaTonya, whose daughters receive meals delivered by Cornelious, “I really can’t afford to feed my kids snacks and a lunch. It helps give them something to eat before they get home.” Read LaTonya’s full story here.
Cornelious is happy to work for the Food Bank making sure these programs run smoothly and efficiently. It’s a big job, but he’s up to the challenge. We know you are, too. Thank you for supporting our efforts to end child hunger in Northeast Ohio.
